Awesome Amarone. I've been devote fan of Amarone most of my adult life. I prefer the styles that are not too funky with light volatile acidity and no discernable sweetness. In my view, this is perfect Amarone. The Zeni family has 140 years of winemaking history in Verona. This wine is about 2/3 Corvina, with the remainder being Rondinella and Molinara, the holy trinity of Amarone. It's aged for up to four years in old oak. The end result is a deeply complex wine, deep in color, but more garnet at the rim of the glass, weighty and full on the palate, textured, nuanced and silky smooth. An epic, classic, sensational wine. It's great from the time it's opened, even better after about an hour. Drink it with hearty dishes or well-aged cheese. Total production 700 cases. Best to drink now through 2025.
