This is a treat. Typically, I'm not a fan of ultra brut style Champagnes. Most are out of balance. This one is amazing. Originally launched back in 1981, it's become the benchmark standard for it's style. Made from 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir, six years on the lees. Creamy, flinty, perfectly balanced, loads of length, it smell like toasted almonds and zesty citrus. It's excellent, from start to finish, ideal as a starter wine or with shellfish, especially oysters. With a good stopper, it'll keep for days in the fridge. Total production 1000 cases. Drink now.
