2016 Chateau Rozier Grand Cru St. Emilion - Bordeaux, France - SAVE 23%
I've drank this wine for twenty plus years. I have bottles of this going back to the mid-1990's. It's a consistently outstanding wine and good value, especially in the world of Bordeaux where prices have hit insane levels. The property is run by the Saby family, owners of nine different chateaux, all in the right bank. This one is made from about 80% Merlot, with the remainder being Cabernet Franc. Oak aged for two years. It's deep in color, well-extracted, classic St. Emilion, supple, refined, restrained and well balanced. It's best to open an hour before serving, it'll evolve with time in the glass, it holds well into day two. Drink it with most anything from the grill or hearty wintertime dishes. Total production 12000 cases. The 2016 is a very good vintage, it'll age well until at least 2026.
